Inter disposed of Livorno 2-0 to open up an 11-point lead at the top of the Serie A table ahead of tonight’s clash between Juventus and Roma.Azzurri keeper Marco Amelia was a busy man in the opening stages, with saves from Stankovic, Zanetti and Crespo.
But there was nothing the Livorno number one could do to keep out Suazo’s bullet header from Chivu’s perfectly executed free kick in the 14th minute.
The Honduran added his second on 18 minutes, crashing home from close range after the Amaranto defence failed to clear Maxwell’s left-wing cross.
Inter should have been three-nil up by the break but Suazo was beaten to Crespo’s return pass after a fast counter-attack down the middle.
